Volksfest
Sharing Food, Laughter, Dance, & Song
The Volksfest is our biggest event of the year and celebrates our German heritage and culture with authentic food, drinks, and activities. Our first Volksfest took place in 1934; however, we discontinued in 1941 when "patriotic feelings stirred by WWII turned public opinion against anything of German culture." We brought back the Volksfest in 1962 as part of Evansville's sesquicentennial celebration.
